The Apple Hill String Quartet and Director Leonard Matczynski will be traveling to Peru April 3-17. They will kick off the tour with a concert at the Peruvian Embassy in Washington, D.C. on April 2. While in Peru, they will teach master classes in chamber music and the Quartet will perform concerts in Lima and Cusco in an effort to form new partnerships with Peruvian students and music schools. Apple Hill has traveled to numerous places throughout the U.S. and the world to fulfill the mission of Playing for Peace.
“We hope that the new connections we make in Peru will entice students to attend the Summer Chamber Music Workshop on our campus in Nelson to enhance the incredible diversity we have here during the summer. Our students learn to play music and to communicate and connect with each other in ways they never imagined,” says Director Leonard Matczynski.
