Collaboration with MoCo Arts “Time to Dance”
The Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College
Ludwig van Beethoven String Quartet Op. 59 No. 3 in C Major
Saturday, January 25, 7 pm doors open/8 pm concert
Nova Arts, Keene, NH
Once again, the Apple Hill String Quartet brings an eclectic line-up of music to Nova Arts. Inspired by their tour to the West Coast this winter, the Quartet highlights two composers from that region of the US. Iranian-American composer, Kian Ravaei, draws on childhood memories from Tehran and the suburbs of LA in his moving Family Photos; California native Dana Lyn bases The Ceremony That Never Was on fantastical paintings of animals by Wiyot artist, Rick Bartow. The Quartet rounds out the program with two works from the past. Germaine Tailleferre transports listeners to 1920s Paris with her String Quartet, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 59 No. 3 stuns as a perennial favorite since 1808. The Quartet can’t wait to bring this music to life in Keene this January!
