Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music will host Charitable Giving Demystified, a complimentary educational seminar, on Thursday, May 7 from 6-7 p.m. in Apple Hill’s Hoffman Auditorium, 410 Apple Hill Road, Nelson, NH. Attendees are also welcome to attend virtually online.
The seminar will be led by Douglas Thompson, Senior Vice President of Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors, and provide an overview of estate planning, while highlight opportunities for charitable giving. National Philanthropic Trust Regional Director Meghan Clifford will join Thompson as co-presenter offering insights around Donor-Advised Funds (DAF) and other philanthropic expertise relative to charitable giving.
Workshop topics include Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), living gifts, bequests, wills, gifts of securities, tax advantaged gifts and more. The event includes a Q&A for attendees to ask questions.
“We’re excited to present a learning opportunity that ideally gives back to nonprofits that nurture the Monadnock community and beyond,” said Apple Hill’s Executive Director Sam Bergman, “while expanding our own knowledge of charitable giving through not one, but two experts.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for in-person attendees; online access begins at 6 p.m. Attendees must pre-register; email Kristina at kristina@applehill.org by May 4. Attendee info will not be shared outside of the organization.
