Yun-Han Sun, cello

Yun-Han Sun, cello, is a Taiwanese cellist with an active international career as both a performer and educator. She began studying the cello at the age of five and completed the seven-year integrated music program at Tainan National University of the Arts, where she studied with Victor Chpiller, a student of Mstislav Rostropovich. Ms. Sun continued her professional training in the United States, earning a Master of Music in Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee under the guidance of Rhonda Rider. She later received a full scholarship to pursue the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Minnesota, where she studied with Tanya Remenikova and completed her doctorate in 2011. She has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Asia,  Europe,  and the United States, with appearances in Taiwan, China, Japan, Germany, and the U.S. Her festival engagements include Apple Hill, Youth & Muse, and the Stuttgart International Music Festival. Ms. Sun currently serves on the cello and chamber music faculty at Tainan National University of the Arts and other institutions in Taiwan, and is the cellist of Trio Fonte, maintaining an active career in performance and education.
