When you support Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, you foster radical hospitality and acceptance. Your generosity in any amount makes it possible for Apple Hill to welcome students and faculty from disparate cultural, ethnic, religious, economic, and political backgrounds. Through music and our bucolic setting in southwestern New Hampshire, Apple Hill participants grow as musicians, people, listeners and leaders, forming lifelong bonds that span generations along the way.
Apple Hill provides tuition assistance for both domestic and international students, maintains 41 buildings on 100 acres of hills and forest, and presents world-class concerts here in Nelson and around the globe.
Your investment in Apple Hill’s mission is a gift of acceptance, inclusivity, creative expression, and encouragement during a time of growing need for connection and humanity throughout the world.
Our friends, supporters, partners, staff, artists, board and alumni deeply appreciate your support. Thank you!
Apple Hill just celebrated its 50th anniversary and over the span of the last 50 years, change and growth has been a constant. As we momentarily pause to celebrate those past 50 years, Apple Hill has already started to push out its next phase—there are new buildings on campus, new tools and technology to reach a global audience, and a leadership transition to a new director and new opportunities, all rooted in a deep understanding of a living mission. The experience that Apple Hill creates for musicians of all backgrounds, ages and levels to come together is transformative to each participant. It was transformative for me, my students, and many of my friends since 2003 when I first attended Apple Hill. So even though new projects and initiatives are already underway, the urgency of a mission that is centered on inclusion, community connection, and acceptance is not one to ignore in our current times.

Bequests that allow the gift to be put toward a project of greatest need at the time it is received are particularly welcome. Once you complete your estate plans, please let us know so that we may thank you for your generosity by including you in Apple Hill for the Ages.

Here’s why one donor was inspired to leave a legacy to Apple Hill:
There are two reasons I support Apple Hill. The main reason is that my late husband, Steve Rosenthal, loved going to Apple Hill. Steve was on the Board of Trustees for many years and went to the Summer Chamber Music Workshop from 2003-2013. He just loved it. He introduced me to Apple Hill, and when he died unexpectedly and tragically in 2014, I reached out to Apple Hill Director Lenny Matczynski because I wanted to do something to honor Steve. The second reason is that I now have a new husband, who has spent every summer of life in Peterborough, NH. His family is from the area so I’m introducing them to Apple Hill.
