Dear Friends,
We’re looking forward to an exciting summer filled with music, friendship, and inspiration here on our dirt road. Summer 2025 will bring with it much-needed campus improvements, including a new cabin; refurbished pianos for our rehearsal barn; new solar arrays that provide for most of our electrical needs; and a brand new soccer field that will allow our evening games to take place on campus for the first time!
Of course, no ambitious plan or capital improvement is possible without support, and Apple Hill is profoundly fortunate to be surrounded by a loving and generous community of donors who have helped our mission and philosophy of Playing for Peace flourish for over half a century.
As 2025 unfolds, we find Apple Hill being significantly impacted by the federal government’s sudden funding freezes and changes in policy. We have had existing grants canceled, and seen others become inaccessible to us due to new rules banning recipients from any commitments to racial or gender equity. At Apple Hill, our commitment to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for musicians of all races, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, and nationalities is at the forefront of everything we do, and we promise never to compromise those values.
With our mission in clear view, we are reaching out to our dedicated Apple Hill community with increased fundraising goals this spring. More applicants are seeking financial aid to attend Apple Hill’s summer workshops than ever before, and our goal is to fulfill every one of those asks.
At this critical moment, we humbly ask that you consider increasing your support for Apple Hill to help us meet the growing needs for the scholarship support and artistic initiatives that are Apple Hill’s hallmarks. If you’re a monthly donor through our Sostenuto Society (the easiest way to keep your support flowing!) please consider boosting your monthly level. If you prefer to give in a lump sum, you can do that right here.
Thank you for all you’ve given. Your generosity has sustained Apple Hill for generations of participants and audiences. Imagine with us, at this critical moment, what more we can do together.
Yours sincerely,
Sam Bergman
Executive Director
